School Founder

The impetus for creating Grove Virtual Academy was Randall Bedwell’s unpublished doctoral dissertation, “Degrees of Completion: Increasing Online Retention Rates Through Learner-Centered Facilitation Strategies,” and his background in teaching history online and in the classroom for the Tennessee Board of Regents and University of Phoenix.

As an educational consultant and founder of College Path Consultants (and co-founder of DiversityLeadershipProject.org), Randall Bedwell has worked with over a hundred students, primarily from Williamson County, in shaping their educational trajectories.

He began coaching promising students as the tennis pro for the City of Oxford, Mississippi while working on his MA in History at Ole Miss  in the early 90s.  He taught adjunct for a few colleges over the last 25 years, and then earned his MA in Education in 2009 at Trevecca Nazarene University where he also worked on his doctorate, choosing to study online learning as his dissertation topic. He is a nationally-recognized college planner and educational expert and has a body of published work.

His unique skillsets in facilitating online learning and avoiding the obstacles that stand in the way of effective online content delivery provide a complement to his educational consulting practice, College Path Consultants, LLC.
